It is reported that the faces of frontline workers tend to be the body part that is most susceptible to contamination by splashes, sprays and splatter of body fluids.
A face shield is classified as a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which can provide a barrier to protect the face and related mucous membranes (eyes, nose and lips).
With the onset of COVID-19, the demand for face shields has been increasing dramatically, and many have become desperate in attaining one. The open source community has come together to help in this situation by introducing a 3D printed design.
In the same spirit, Kiwi (LionsForge CEO) is determined to overcome the rate of production issues and cost associated with the production of these face masks by laser cutting these designs.
